Industry gathering features exciting ideas and immersive activities: trends, inspiration and networking at Insights-X
- Wide range of products plus Insights-X Trends
- InsightsArena with powerful ideas for retail
- AfterHour and OrangeNight for maintaining contacts
Stationery, Office, Bags and more – those are the basics of Insights-X, which opens its doors in Nuremberg from 11 to 14 October, including eXtra-Day. The key players and startups in the industry will be presenting their extensive product ranges and innovative new ideas to buyers from across all of Europe in a most enjoyable atmosphere in Halls 10.0, 11.0 and 12.0 of the Exhibition Centre. In addition, a number of highlights will make the visit a very special experience: in the urban flair of the freshly redesigned InsightsArena, the trade can expect inspiring product and business ideas as well as the four areas of Insights-X Trends. The character of the networking between trade and industry is enhanced by the AfterHour and the new OrangeNight.
eXtra-Day for the retail trade
“The innovations at Insights-X essentially increase its value to the retail trade and offer improved networking in a relaxed business atmosphere,” reveals Christian Ulrich, Spokesperson of the Executive Board at Spielwarenmesse eG. Those new features include eXtra-Day. This additional day on the Saturday, with well-known suppliers and activities in Halls 10.0 and 11.0, is focused above all on the retail trade in the German-speaking DACH region. On the weekdays, meanwhile, buyers for major retail chains from across Europe are expected and these can draw on the entire pool of exhibitors in Halls 10.0, 11.0 and 12.0. A total of 191 companies from 27 countries will be displaying their stationery products at Insights-X and spending their time in wide-ranging discussions, at the perfect time for ordering in the autumn. After Germany, the major exhibiting countries include China, Türkiye, Italy and Poland.
Diverse range of companies and brands
Thanks to the division into six product categories – Writing Utensils & Equipment, Paper & Filing, Artistic & Creative, Desktop & Office, Bags & Accessories and Stationery & Gift Articles – the distances to be covered are short in all three halls. After taking a break, highly reputable companies and brands such as Faber-Castell, duo schreib & spiel, the Iden Group and STABILO will be joining in again. In addition, international giants of the sector – such as DKT (Portugal), Mitama (Italy) and Patio (Poland) – will be taking part, along with highly regarded German companies including Edding, Cadeju, Pelikan, Hamelin, HAN, Rössler Papier, Jakob Maul and Veloflex, amongst others. Türkiye is represented for the first time with a pavilion at Insights-X. This can be found in Hall 12.0, as can creative startup ideas from international exhibitors and young innovative German businesses.
One of the premieres at Insights-X will be the Insights-X Trends. These were put together exclusively for the fair by Gabriela Kaiser, proprietor of TRENDagentur, and are characterised by sustainability. Under the umbrella of ‘Eco-friendly Living’, four trending currents have been identified. In the category of ‘Paper Love’, everything revolves around the elemental material of the stationery sector, which is put to so many diverse uses in the creative field in particular. ‘Vintage Nostalgia’, meanwhile, picks up the atmosphere of bygone times in designs with a romantic retro look. Counterbalancing this is ‘Colorful Joy’ – especially colourful products to engender a happy mood. The fourth trend, ‘License Stars’, offers hot topics in the field of licensing, with a strong relevance to the back-to-school category.
InsightsArena for inspiration
A key destination where trends are concerned is the InsightsArena in Hall 10.0. Its impressively redesigned urban concept is reminiscent of a city-centre shopping trip. Here, it is worth making a stop at the Retail Inspiration Hub, where the Insights-X Trends can be experienced through sample products. Trade visitors can gain innovative design tips for presenting goods at the point of sale and inspiration for the shopping experience in their own outlets. At the neighbouring BRANDmate Plaza, everything revolves around the world of licensing. The team from the B2B event for new licenses and partnerships, from which the Plaza takes its name, presents exciting product trends from the field of licensing. Also to be found in the InsightsArena is the Photo-Box for creative graffiti fans, who can leave their illustration behind on the walls to become part of a unique joint artwork that is being created throughout the duration of the fair. Participants will find themselves similarly at the heart of the action in the PodcastLounge, where they can follow live the discussions with industry experts being recorded for the Spielwarenmesse Podcast. Their physical wellbeing is taken care of, too: in all three halls, trade visitors and buyers will find VisitorLounges with a range of catering options.
The networking opportunities at Insights-X are strongly supported by 18 national and European trade associations. Two cooperation partners are taking advantage of synergies by holding parallel events at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre: the Handelsverband Büro und Schreibkultur is holding its industry conference on the Thursday, while the following day the autumn conference of duo schreib & spiel will take place. At two parties, all participants in Insights-X will have the opportunity to strike up conversations with one another: firstly, trade and industry can make new contacts at the popular AfterHour, which takes place on the Wednesday in the foyer of the Entrance West (Eingang West) amid culinary delights and musical entertainment. Secondly, on the Friday evening, the new OrangeNight is on the agenda. With street food, drinks and music from a DJ, the sector can come together in the InsightsArena and get in the mood for eXtra-Day on the Saturday.
The Insights-X app makes it easy to keep contacts up to date. Through the networking area and the chat function, finding contacts and arranging appointments is a simple matter. Users can obtain relevant suggestions for contacts by entering their own particular interests. Moreover, interactive hall plans, the catalogue of exhibitors and the ticket to Insights-X are always on hand from the digital assistant. The entrance price for the full duration of the fair – including both evening events – is €15 and also serves as a ticket for travel on public transport. The fair is open from Wednesday to Friday between 9 am and 6 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. On the Friday, Hall 12.0 similarly closes at 5 pm.
“We look forward to four highly varied days at the fair,” says Christian Ulrich in summary. “A comprehensive range of products, knowledge and networking opportunities is available to the sector at Insights-X, from which members of the specialist retail trade can select the individual elements that will benefit their business.”
