Spielwarenmesse Digital: launch of event week with plenty of highlights

From Wednesday, the world’s leading event invites the industry to its virtual gathering. During the originally planned period of this year’s Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg, from 2 to 6 February a wide-ranging programme will be taking place on the Spielwarenmesse Digital business platform. This will give exhibitors, the trade and media representatives the opportunity to immerse themselves deep in current trends and topics, and to exchange views and experiences.
Informative opening event
“In Spielwarenmesse Digital, we have created a multifunctional platform that puts people at its centre and where industry professionals can target their networking to their own specific interests,” explains Christian Ulrich, Spokesperson of the Executive Board at Spielwarenmesse eG. The digital opening, which will be live-streamed on Wednesday 2 February at 9:00 am, is the start of the event, where the organisers will explain the background to the Spielwarenmesse. In addition, keynote speaker Philippe Glorieux, Head of Marketing, IMPS The Smurfs, will be giving some exciting insights into his sustainability project in conjunction with the UN. At the same event, the winners of the ToyAward will be announced in their various categories, which for the first time include ‘Sustainability’.
Trends and special topics for every taste
All of the winners and nominees of this coveted innovation award are profiled on Spielwarenmesse Digital. The Toys go Green megatrend gets a similarly lively treatment, with presentations on the subject of sustainability and examples of products in each of the individual categories. The exhibitors have further innovations not only on their own profiles but also within the special themes, such as Tech2Play and the TrendGallery. Meanwhile, the Insights-X Area presents a compact overview of attractive associated product ranges from the stationery sector, with over 50 product ideas. New talent and business contacts are to be found in the Startup Area, the Service Providers Area and at the ‘Internationale Spieleerfindermesse – Game Inventors Convention’. For selected digital areas, virtual lounges are available where interested industry participants can hold discussions and get in touch with the Spielwarenmesse team.
Expertise in toys for everyday business
The heart of Spielwarenmesse Digital is represented by exciting expert presentations, interesting interviews and exclusive presentations by the exhibitors. The Toy Business Forum, from 1:00 pm Monday to Saturday and from 11:00 am on Sunday, tackles current topics in the trade, presented by high quality speakers. The licensing sector has its say from 10:30 am Wednesday to Saturday in the LicenseTalks. All presentations will be streamed on digital.spielwarenmesse.de and will then be available on demand – the talks in the Toy Business Forum in German and English, and the LicenseTalks in their original language.
Networking made easy
Industry participants can already access Spielwarenmesse Digital, which will be available until the end of August. The Fit for Fair online sessions can help participants prepare for the fair. These short videos explain to exhibitors and trade representatives how to create their personal profile and how the networking functions on the new platform work. These make it possible to link up with others, arrange meetings and mark favourites among the products.
